The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei has launched the National Water and Energy Demand Management Programme.
The programme aims to improve the energy efficiency of the three most energy-intensive sectors in the country, namely transport, industry, and construction, by 40% in 2050, the Emirates News Agency reported.
Through the program, several initiatives will be launched, such as cutting energy demand by 40%, raising the share of renewables in the energy mix to 50%, and boosting water reuse by 95%.
