Sabah Electricity, USM cooperate towards energy efficiency

Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd and the Universiti Sains Malaysia signed an MoU aimed at increasing energy efficiency via lower cost methods.

The deal will see the partners working together in planning and deciding on the measures to be taken for raising energy efficiency via lower cost methods.

It would also facilitate the transfer of knowledge in the energy supply field particularly for the development of the state.

Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, Omar said the selection of SESB as a partner for energy development came as it was seen as an agent of development for the state, capable of sharing its expertise in the field of energy and bring benefits for both parties.

Tan meanwhile said the collaboration between SESB and USM was in synch with the government's efforts to give focus to green energy which will raise the production of energy while at the same time cut down on the wastage of energy.
