Power purchase deal signed for NTPC Kudgi plant
NTPC and the electricity supply companies of Karnataka have signed power purchase agreement for the 4,000 MW Kudgi plant.
“I am very keen that the ground breaking ceremony by National Thermal Power Corporation should be done by January 2011 and I am sure that the release of funds to Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board by NTPC will be made expeditiously to meet this target,” according to Mr. B.S. Yeddyurappa chief minister of Karnataka.
NTPC has so far paid US$ 5.85 million to the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board.
Karnataka is entitled to 35 per cent of the power generated.
