India to exceed 33% carbon reduction goal by 2030: Singh
The power minister said energy transition is taking place at a rapid pace.
India’s power minister, Raj Kumar Singh, is confident that they will exceed the 33% carbon reduction goal in the Paris Agreement by 2030.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the CII-organised Aatmanirbhar Bharat Self-Reliance for Renewable Energy Manufacturing Conference, Singh also said that they will also soon exceed the goal of 40% energy capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030.
He said they are currently at 39% and adding the capacity of those under installations will bring it up to 48%, way beyond the nationally determined contributions pledges.
