
BBMB misses generation targets at Bhakra, Pong projects
Bhakra Beas Management Board failed to meet its power generation target for the period September 21, 2010 to December 20, 2010.
According to the utility’s report, the cumulative electricity generation during the period at the firm’s Bhakra complex stood at 1713 MU, as against the target of 1783 MU reflecting a deficit of 3.92 per cent.
The Bhakra Project, however, again missed its target of 401 MU and produced 379 MU during the said period, whereas the Pong power plant produced 494 MU, against the target of 546 MU, with a shortage of about 9.5 per cent.
On the other hand, the 990 MW Dehar powerhouse successfully surpassed its target of 482 MU, by generating 686 MU, showing a remarkable surplus of 42.32 per cent. The Pong and Dehar power plants also beat their respective targets of 109 MU and 66 MU for the period, by generating 110 MU and 81 MU, respectively.
