Bangladesh to import power from Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar
A growing electricity demand has prompted Bangldesh to import power.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith said the government has worked out a plan to get power from Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar.
He also urged his countrymen to emulate nations that gets maximum benefit from minimum electricity like Switzerland and Japan.
Muhith added that they should not follow United States' practice of wasting electricity.
Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury said the average price of electricity is still low in Bangladesh compared to the neighboring countries and urged all to ensure frugal consumption of electricity.
