Vena Energy signs framework deal to boost Indonesia’s RE supply chain

This will also boost Vena Energy’s solar-battery hybrid megaproject in Riau Islands.

Vena Energy entered a framework agreement with leading renewable energy manufacturers to establish Indonesia’s local production lines for photovoltaics panels and energy storage systems components.

In a statement, Vena Energy said the other signatories were photovoltaic modules manufacturer Suntech, energy storage platform provider Powin, and battery cell product REPT Battero.

“With this Framework Agreement, we aim to significantly contribute to the development of a productive domestic supply chain in the renewable energy sector, which will support Indonesia’s energy transition plan and enhance the local economy by creating jobs, fostering industrial expansion and opening export opportunities in this growing sector of the economy”, said Nitin Apte, CEO of Vena Energy.

The components that will be manufactured following the deal will support VEna Energy’s hybrid megaproject in Riau Islands which will feature up to two gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity with 8 GW-hours capacity of battery energy storage system.
