Solarvest, GreenRock to build 1-GW green energy projects in Taiwan and Malaysia
This will back Malaysia’s 2035 green energy target.
Malaysia’s Solarvest announced its partnership with Taiwan's renewable energy company GreenRock Energy to develop 1 gigawatt of renewable energy projects in their respective countries over the next five years.
In a statement, Solarvest said the partnership will allow GreenRock Energy to advance its regional expansion by leveraging the former’s strengths in Malaysia and the Southeast Asia market.
This will also drive the region’s energy transformation and sustainable development, it added.
Solarvest said this development marks the entry of a Taiwanese company in the Malaysian renewable energy market.
“GreenRock Energy recognises Malaysia’s potential, aligning with the government’s goal of reaching 40% green energy by 2035. To secure a competitive market advantage, GreenRock Energy has now become the first Taiwanese company to participate in Malaysian government green energy projects,” Solarvest said.
