Sinopec launches largest Green Hydrogen-Coal Chemical project in Inner Mongolia
The project is expected to “guarantee” China’s energy security.
The China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation has launched the Inner Mongolia Erdos Wind-Solar Green Hydrogen Project.
The project will utilise solar and wind energy resources in the Erdos region to directly produce green hydrogen. The project is forecast to produce a total of 30,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.

“The Project is of great significance to guaranteeing China's energy security, building new energy systems and advancing green energy and low-carbon development in Inner Mongolia, leading towards a new, high-quality development roadmap that prioritizes ecological conservation and green development," Ma Yongsheng, Chairman of Sinopec, said.
The project, worth US$828.04m, is expected to reduce carbon emission by 1.43 million tonnes annually.
