Siemens Energy to supply gas turbine power islands to Chinese power plant
This follows an agreement signed with Shenzhen Energy in 2019.
Energy technology company Siemens Energy will supply China-based Shenzhen Energy Corporation with two 460 MW F-class gas turbine power islands for the phase two of its Fengda Power Plant Natural Gas Power Generation Expansion Project.
Pursuant to the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement inked by both parties in 2019, Siemens Energy will deliver two sets of SGT5-4000F gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment for the project.
The project, located in Huizhou City, is expected to generate more 2.7 billion kWh annually when it begins operations in 2023.
“This will mark a significant step in helping meet the rapidly growing power demand in the eastern core area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and help ensure the safe and stable operation of the region’s power supply system,” a statement from Siemens Energy read.
