Rosatom unit to invest in Kyrgyzstan wind project

The project will have a 100-megawatt capacity.

Rosatom's wind power division, JSC NovaWind, signed an agreement with the Russian Kyrgyz Development Fund to develop and invest in the construction of a 100-megawatt (MW) wind power plant in Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul region.

In a statement, JSC NovaWind Director General Grigory Nazarov said they have extensive experience in constructing and operating wind plants, noting that it has deployed nine wind power plants in three regions in southern Russia.

The development brings its realised wind projects to 1 gigawatt.

"Rosatom is interested in implementing renewable energy projects in the Kyrgyz Republic and developing comprehensive cooperation with friendly countries," Nazarov added.
