ReNew Energy, Gentari to develop 5 GW renewable energy in India

The companies signed a 50:50 joint venture.

India’s ReNew Energy through its subsidiary ReNew Power, and Gentari, through its subsidiary Gentari Renewables India entered a joint venture to develop five gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity.

In a statement, Gentari said the proposed joint venture will involve exploring investment to develop solar, wind and energy storage assets.

The partnership will support Gentari’s goal to build over 30 GW of renewable capacity by 2030 and ReNew’s net zero target by 2040.

Gentari’s initially invested in a 49% equity stake in ReNew’s 403 megawatts Peak Power project in May.
