Reliance power: Projects worth 6,960 MW capacity under development

One of India's largest private sector power companies, Reliance Power Limited (RPL) currently has three projects worth a total capacity of 6,960 MW under construction. These include two coal based projects, one in Madhya Pradesh and another in Maharashtra, and one gas based project in Andhra Pradesh which is the country's largest gas-based power project.

8Butibori thermal power plant (600 MW): Steam blowing has been completed for the first 300 MW unit in Maharashtra and the unit is expected to be synchronized in this quarter.
8Samalkot power project (2,400 MW): Two of the gas turbines of the project have been synchronized while two more gas turbines have been tested at full speed no load (FSNL)
8Sasan ultra mega power project (3,960 MW): Boiler hydro test of the first 660 MW unit has been successfully completed. This unit is expected to be commissioned ahead of schedule by December 2012.
