Philippines’ Basic Energy to develop wind energy in Batangas
The project could generate power ranging from 140 MW to 168 MW.
The Philippines’ Department of Energy has approved a wind energy service contract (WESC) of the Basic Energy Corporation to develop a wind project in Batangas province.
In a disclosure, Basic Energy said the Balayan Nearshore Wind Project will be developed within the contracted area of 2,835 hectares located around one kilometre of the Calatagan peninsula.

The project is expected to generate and contribute around 140 megawatts (MW) to 168 MW of energy to the grid.
Its commerciality is expected to be declared within five years in the pre-development stage.
The WESC brings the company's portfolio to around 350 MW to 400 MW.
