Oracle Power secures approval for 1.3GW renewable project in Pakistan

It is composed of 800 MW of solar and 500 MW of wind projects.

Oracle Power and its green energy developer and joint venture firm Oracle Energy have secured permission to develop its proposed 1.3 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy power plant in Pakistan.

In a statement, Oracle Power said these projects, located in Jhimpir, Sindh Province, comprise 800 megawatts (MW) of solar project and 500 MW of wind power.

"We are very pleased to receive [Sindh Environmental Protection Agency’s No Objection Certificate] for the construction of the project, as it meets an important condition for potential financing of the project and marks another important milestone in the development of our renewable energy project in Pakistan,” said Oracle CEO Naheed Memon.

“It also underscores our commitment to quick project advancement and adherence to sustainable development practices,” Memon added.

Oracle said it will strictly comply with the conditions in the approval, including compliance with the National Environmental Quality Standards and Sindh Environmental Quality Standards for wastewater, drinking water, air emissions, and noise levels.
