ONGC and EverEnviro partner to develop 10 compressed bio-gas plants
They aim to lessen India’s reliance on imported gas.
India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) signed a memorandum of understanding with EverEnviro Resource Management Private Limited to develop 10 compressed bio-gas plants.
In a social media post, ONGC said it will hold a 50:50 venture with EverEnviro to develop the biogas plants, which will help reduce the country’s reliance on imported gas.
Bio-gas plants will utilise various feedstocks such as agricultural waste, agro-industrial waste, energy crops, and municipal solid waste to reduce around 750,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
The project aligns with the government's goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070.
