NTPC unit, RVUNL to develop 25 GW renewable projects

They also plan to produce green hydrogen derivatives.

NTPC’s renewable energy arm, NTPC Green Energy, and the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of renewable energy projects with a capacity of up to 25 gigawatts.

In a statement, the Ministry of Power added that the partnership also includes the development of up to one million of green hydrogen derivatives in the state of Rajasthan.

Aside from this, NTPC and RVUNL signed a separate MoU to study the addition of supercritical units to the Chhabra Thermal Power Plant.

They also plan to improve the efficiency and bring down the power generation cost of the existing units.

The parties also entered an agreement for a 15-year to 20-year annuity-based renovation and modernisation of RVUNL’s old thermal units.
