NTPC, Numaligarh Refinery partner to develop green project
This will include the development of a proposed bamboo-based bio-refinery.
Integrated power utility NTPC Limited and Oil India’s Numaligarh Refinery Limited signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to collaborate in the proposed bamboo-based bio-refinery at NTPC Bongaigoan, amongst other green projects.
In a statement, the Ministry of Power said the partnership between the two central public sector enterprises aims to boost their green chemical footprint and sustainable efforts.

NTP aims to reach 60 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2032 and lead in green hydrogen and energy storage sectors.
The company is also working toward green hydrogen, biofuels, carbon capture and hydrogen mobility, amongst other decarbonisation initiatives.
