
NHPC to develop 1,200 MW solar park
It comprises 12 projects with a 100 MW capacity each.
India’s NHPC started works for the 1,200-megawatt Jalaun Ultra Mega Renewable Power Park as it held a ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone for the project.
In a statement, NHPC said that the project, located in Uttar Pradesh, is being developed under the government’s Solar Park Scheme.

It is capable of generating 2,400 million units of electricity annually and cutting 432,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions during its 25-year lifespan.
The project is composed of 12 power projects with 100 MW capacity each with a total investment of around $65.3m (INR5.4b).
The Indian Railways plan to purchase 1,400 million units of electricity from the project.
