NHPC to build 200 MW solar project in Gujarat

It will produce 473 million units during the first year of its operations.

India’s hydropower firm NHPC Limited secured the development of a 200-megawatt (MW) solar power project at Khavda in the Kachchh district of Gujarat, India.

In a statement, the Ministry of Power said the project, which will be set up at the 1,125 MW renewable energy park of the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd, is expected to produce 473 million units in its first year of commissioning.

It will generate a total of 10,850 million units over 25 years.

The ministry said the tender for the project, which costs (INR847 crores) to develop, was issued by Gujarat Urha Vikas Nigam Limited.

NHCP sacred the project at a tariff of (INR 2.66) per unit and will be completed in 18 months.
