L&T sets standard by installing 114 MW solar power in a year
Larsen and Toubro has successfully commissioned the nation's largest 40 MWp solar photo voltaic based power plant in a span of 129 days.
It is situated at Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
With this plant now fully operational, L&T Construction has set a new benchmark in the sector by installing 114 MW of utility scale solar PV power plants over the last fiscal.
The solar PV power plant, spread across an area of 350 acres, is equipped to supply more than 70 million units of clean and green energy to 75,000 households.
More than 5,00,000 high output generating thin fiIm technology based Solar PV modules, procured by Reliance, and thirteen 3.5 MVA power transformers have been used to generate 40MWp.
L&T's scope of work for this project included complete design, engineering, procurement and construction of 40 MWp solar power plant, along with the construction of a 5 km long 33 kV double circuit transmission line.
