
Lixin project to start in 2011
Guangzhou Zhongdian Lixin Power's US$424.9 million Lixin 2×300 megawatt co-generation project is expected to start operation in 2011. This was announced by the company during its kickoff ceremony in Xintang, Guangzhou.
Guangzhou Zhongdian Lixin Power is co-funded by China Power International Holding Ltd. and Guangzhou Power Enterprise.
Approved by NDRC on 10 October 2009, the project is of great significance for the strategic deployment by China Power International in the southern region.
Located in Xintang Township of Zengcheng, Guangzhou, the project is a critical part of the comprehensive environmental protection for bleaching and dyeing industry in Xintang.
When completed, it will realize central heating, water supply and waste water treatment in the Environmental Protection Industrial Zone, reduce atmospheric pollution caused by discharge from small industrial boilers and make cyclic use of water resources, thus considerably improving the environment in Xintang, promoting its social and economic development and blazing a path of environment-friendly, cyclic and sustainable development for its bleaching and dyeing industry.
