Kaifeng’s 2×600MW units ready for power generation
Kaifeng Power Plant’s extension project passed the 168-hour test run with a 100 percent rate in automation, protection, instrument startup and steam-water quality. The successful test run signals its completion for generation.
The extension project, with an average load of 100.83 percent, includes two 600MW units.
The period for its completion of only 17 months and 17 days is a benchmark for construction schedule in China, according to the China Power Investment Corporation.
Unit 1 of the plant was put into operation on 17 December 2008.
The completion will play a profound role in further optimising the power structure of the China Power Investment Corporation and Henan province, saving resources and promoting the economic development of Kaifeng and eastern Henan.
