JERA, PT PLN unit partner for LNG value chain development
The MOU also includes studying possible conversion to hydrogen, ammonia value chain.
Japan’s JERA and PT PNL (Persero) PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the development of a liquified natural gas (LNG) value chain for Indonesia’s power sector.
In a statement, JERA said the collaboration under the MOU covers the areas of LNG procurement, optimisation, and the development and operation of receiving terminals in Indonesia.

It added that the establishment of an LNG value chain will help coal-dependent Indonesia ensure power stability and energy transition and achieve net zero emissions by 2060.
The MOU will also explore the potential conversion to a hydrogen and ammonia value chain.
