
India's BHEL commissions 1,980MW Prayagraj supercritical power plant
It's the third and last unit in the project.
Indian state-run engineering company Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has commissioned the third and last 660 MW unit at the 1,980 MW Prayagraj supercritical thermal power project, located in Bara tehsil in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh (India), according to Enerdata.
The project is owned by Prayagraj Power Generation Company Limited (PPGCL), a subsidiary company of Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL). "The first unit was commissioned by BHEL in December 2015 and the second in December 2016. In the last 17 months, BHEL has installed and commissioned six supercritical sets in Uttar Pradesh," Enerdata said.
