India grants Rajasthan transmission project to Apraava Energy

Around 200 km of transmission lines will be set up.

Apraava Energy has secured an interstate transmission project in Rajasthan following a tariff-based competitive bidding.

In a statement, the company said it will build around 200 kilometres (km) of 400 kilovolt (kV) and 765 kV transmission lines, along with a 765/400 kV, 4x1500 and 400/220 kV, 5x500 MVA pooling station.

As part of the transmission service agreement, Apraava will develop the project under the build, own, operate, and transfer model, providing transmission services for a period of 35 years once operational.

Construction is expected to run for two years.

The transmission project is part of the interstate green energy corridor and will help evacuate 5.5 gigawatts of renewable power from Rajasthan's Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, covering the Jaisalmer and Barmer regions.

Apraava currently operates two power transmission projects, one in Madhya Pradesh and the other spanning Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur. Additionally, the company operates three wind energy projects in Rajasthan with a combined capacity of over 250 megawatts (MW), and also has plans to construct three solar energy projects totaling 600 MW.
