Hsiyuan Wind Power and Bank SinoPac close Financing for Taiwan wind farm
The Hsinyuan Wind Farm is expected to start commercial operation in Q2 2024.
Hsiyuan Wind Power Co, a wdp subsidiary, and Bank SinoPac closed the financing for wdp’s 25.2-megawatts (MW) onshore wind farm in Taiwan.
In a statement, wdp said the Hsinyuan wind farm, located in Yunlin County in Lunbei District is composed of six wind turbines with a 4.2 MW capacity each.
“Our Hsinyuan project takes advantage of the excellent conditions for wind energy on the west coast of Taiwan,” says Ralf Ketteler, Head of International Project Finance at wpd.

“With a hub height of 112 meters, the six turbines are not only currently the largest onshore wind turbines in the country, but also make a further important contribution to the success of Taiwan’s energy transition,” Ketteler said.
The project, which is expected to transition to commercial operation in the second quarter, will push Taiwan’s installed onshore wind farm to over 500 MW.
