First Gen awards LNG cargo contract to Trafigura

This came following to completion of an international tender.

First Gen Corporation (FGEN) has awarded a contract to Trafigura Pte Ltd to supply one liquified natural gas cargo of around 154,500 cubic metres on a delivered ex ship basis to its subsidiary First Gen Singapore from 25 November to 25 December.

In a disclosure, the company said Trafigura will unload the LNG into the storage BW Batangas floating storage regasification unit moored at the First Gen Clean Energy Complex in Batangas City.

The supply will be used by the company’s existing gas-fired power plants in the same complex.

First Gen has four gas-fired power plants with a total capacity of 2,071 megawatts. It uses gas generated from the domestic Malampaya field.

The company’s LNG arm built its Interim Offshore LNG Terminal Project and entered a five-year Time Charter Party for BW Batangas to provide storage and regasification services.
