EDPR Sunseap Taiwan completes 200kWp basketball rooftop solar system
The project can offset 171 metric tonnes of carbon emissions.
Sunseap Taiwan Solar Holdings (EDPR Sunseap Taiwan) has completed the installation of a rooftop solar system at a basketball court in Taiwan with a capacity of around 200 kilowatt-peak (kWp).
In a statement, EDPR Sunseap Taiwan said its first basketball court rooftop solar system is located at Ziqian Elementary School in New Taipei City.
It can offset 171 metric tonnes of carbon emissions and can supply electricity to an average of 60 Taiwanese households annually.

“This dual usage of space within a school compound offers urban planners an innovative way to provide more covered spaces for students to engage in outdoor activities while concurrently addressing the need for renewable energy,” a company spokesperson said.
“Powering up a basketball court rooftop is just the beginning. We look forward to bringing more novel green solutions and to instilling in the young the importance of adopting sustainable practices in their everyday lives,” the spokesperson added.
The company completed a 535kWp rooftop solar system at the same school in October last year.
