CIP completes 600 MW Changfang-Xidao Offshore Wind Project in Taiwan
The project can provide power to around 650,000 households annually.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has completed the construction of the 600-megawatt (MW) Changfang-Xidao offshore wind project in Taiwan.
In a statement, CIP said the project has “one of the highest degrees of localisation” in the history of Taiwan’s offshore wind industry as it partnered with local suppliers and vendors.
The project, located 11 kilometres off the west coast of Taiwan is comprised of 62 Vestas V174 turbines and jacket foundations supplied by Century Wind Power.

CIP added that once fully operational, the project can generate power to meet the demand of around 650,000 households and reduce 1.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
The project, which raises Taiwan’s offshore capacity by around 25%, is owned by CIP’s flagship funds CI II and CI III. Thailand’s Global Power Synergy Public Company and local life insurers Taiwan Life and Transglobe Life own minority stakes.
