China Three Gorges Corp inks deal for 2.1GW hydropower project in Zhejiang
Voith will supply two 350MW units for the US$1.5b project.
China Three Gorges Corp. (CTGC) and the Voith Group have signed a contract under which Voith will supply two 350 MW units for the US$1.5bn Zhejiang Changlongshan 2.1 GW pumped storage hydropower project, said Enerdata.
The facility is being constructed by CTGC and is located in the Anji County of the Zhejiang Province’s between the cities of Tianhuangping and Shanchuan in northern China.

With a total capacity of 2,100 MW, the Zhejiang Changlongshan plant will be one of the largest pumped-storage plants built or being built within the Chinese mainland.
The two companies also plan to cooperate together in developing Africa’s hydropower industry. CTGC operates the giant Three Gorges Dam in China and is active in 40 countries with around 100 GW of operational and under construction hydropower plants.
