China’s first lignite-fired USC passes test
The 1×600MW unit of project Phase I in Liaoning Qinghe Power Plant of China Power International passed the 168-hour full-load operation.
It indicates the smooth commercial operation of the first lignite-fired ultra-super-critical 600MW unit designed and manufactured by China. During the 168-hour period of full-load test running, the unit was on full load for 98 continuous hours and achieved a leading level among similar units in China.
As the first lignite-fired USC 600MW unit designed and manufactured by China, its successful commissioning has comprehensively optimised the power mix in Liaoning province, and is of profound significance for alleviating the load pressure on northeastern grid, improving grid stability, mitigating the power shortage in northeastern China, and exploring the prospects of building USC lignite-fired units in cold areas.
CPI Power Engineering Co., Ltd. is responsible for construction and management for this project, which is under the "replace small units with big ones" initiative.
