
Alstom to supply boilers for Indian thermal plant
Contract value is US$131 million.
French multinational conglomerate Alstom has won a contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals to supply two 800MW boilers for its Gadarwara thermal plant in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
Its subsidiary, Alstom Thermal Power Steam, will also help BHEL design the supercritical boilers and supply pressure parts of the boilers, along with pulverizes and air-preheater components.
Unit I of the coal-fired plant is expected to be commissioned in 2016 while Unit II is to be commissioned in 2017.
Alstom Thermal Power business senior vice president Andreas Lusch said the company is delighted to continue to partner with BHEL on this project, and is committed to further invest and develop in India in power sector.
