Alfanar Construction bags SR1.9bn worth of contract
The project targets to increase generation capacity for the demands of the Hail region.
The Saudi Electricity Company has awarded two power projects to Alfanar Construction totaling more than SR 1.9 billion, namely the Reinforcement of Hail 2 Power Plant – Extension III and Construction of High Speed Harmain Railway Substations. The projects were signed by Dr. Saleh Al Awaji, the Chairman of Board, Saudi Electricity Company and Eng. Sabah Al Mutlaq, Vice Chairman, alfanar.
The Reinforcement of Hail 2 Power Plant- Extension III project is aimed at increasing the generation capacity of electric power, to meet the future load demand and to support the existing generation capability of the Hail area by adding 280 MW which will enable the future conversion of the plant into combined cycle. The first two units will be online in August 2012.
The construction of High Speed Harmain Railway 380 kV Substations project will supply power to the upcoming double-track high speed Harmain railway and will include the construction of Six (6) new 380kV Substations. All the Six(6) substations shall be completed and put into service within 24 Months.
