ACME to develop green hydrogen, ammonia project in Southern India

The project received INR524.74b worth of investment.

ACME Group announced it will be developing green hydrogen and green ammonia project in the state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India.

The agreement signed with the state government received some INR524.75b worth of investments. 

“This will be one of the largest plants in India and perhaps the largest in the world,” Manoj K Upadhyay, Founder & Chairman, ACME Group, said. 

“This plant will produce green hydrogen and ammonia, which will help to de-carbonize sectors such as fertilizers, power, refining and steel, amongst others.”

According to Upadhyay, the project will need solar radiation, access to a port, availability of land, and skilled resources which are all offered by Tamil Nadu. 

“This project will comprise 5,000-megawatt of the solar PV plant, 1.5 gigawatts of the electrolyzer, and 1.1 million tonnes of ammonia synthesis loop,” Sandeep Kashyap, COO, ACME Group, said.
