ACEN Australia greenlights Stubbo Solar Project

The 400MW project will produce enough clean energy to power 185,000 households.

ACEN Australia announced the 400-megawatt Stubbo Solar Project will be proceeding after it decided to invest some AUD800m.

The project will be located within the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zome in the Mid-Western Regional Council. It will connect to the existing 330-kilovolt network between Wollar and Wellington.

“It was good to work with Lumea to achieve this major milestone and confirm the connection of Stubbo Solar to the 330kV Transgrid network,” Anton Rohner, CEO of ACEN Australia, said.

“The ability to get the connection agreement done illustrates the value of ACEN Australia’s strategy of connecting into secure and robust parts of the Transgrid Network.”

The project will also include the development of a 200-mgawatt-hour battery energy storage system.
