Aboitiz Power unit to construct 172 MWp solar plant in the Philippines

It tapped AFRY for the development of the project.

Aboitiz Power subsidiary Aboitiz Solar Power, Inc. partnered with AFRY to construct its 172 megawatt-peak solar photovoltaic plant in the Negros Occidental province.

In a statement, AFRY said the Calatrava project will occupy around 143 hectares of “relatively flat terrain” with rolling slopes.

The project will use fixed ground-mounted solar panels that will be connected to the Calatrava substation through a 230-kilovolt voltage.

The project is expected to start exporting power to the grid by the end of 2024.
