10MW Victoria hydrogen plant reaches financial close
The plant will be supplied to around 85,000 people in Victoria and New South Wales.
The Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) has achieved financial close on the Hydrogen Park Murray Valley project, one of the largest renewable hydrogen plants in the country.
In a statement, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) said it committed around $24.1m (A$36.1m) to AGIG for the 10-megawatt (MW) electrolyser deployment in Wodonga, Victoria.
The Victorian Government also allocated around $8.23m (A$12.315m) to the hydrogen plant located next to the North East Water’s Wodonga Wastewater Treatment Plant, through the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action.

The project is also supported by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.
Hydrogen Park Murray Valley will be the largest renewable hydrogen facility on the east coast and in the country, according to ARENA.
The renewable energy it will produce will replace the natural gas supplied to local customers and industry at blends of up to 10%. The hydrogen will meet the needs of around 85,000 individuals in Victoria and New South Wales and could reduce 4,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
It is also the second 10MW project supported by ARENA to reach financial close following Engie’s Project Yuri in September 2022.
