Fyns Kran Udstyr develops adjustable hydraulic yoke for wind turbines
The Danish firm's device reduces the risks involved when lifting, maneuvering and mounting wind turbine nacelles.
In a news release, Fyns Kran Udstyr announced that it has developed a hydraulic yoke that makes lifting, maneuvering and mounting wind turbine nacelles quicker and safer.
While wind turbines present a viable source of energy, lifting and handling the large wind turbine nacelles requires finesse. Fyns Kran Udstyr's hydraulic yoke makes assembling the wind turbines a simpler task.
The hydraulic yoke is adjustable, allowing installers to change the nacelle’s centre of gravity to an exact angle when mounting the nacelle on the tower. The device increases safety, reduces risk and lowers operational costs.
“The hydraulic yoke for wind turbine nacelles not only helps to improve working conditions and to enhance safety, but it also helps to save time while erecting wind turbines”, Torben Kofoed, Sales Manager at Fyns Kran Udstyr states.
The hydraulic nacelle yoke is CE-approved, and fulfills multiple standards and legislation requirements for safety and risk management.
The state of the art hydraulic nacelle yoke has been developed and perfected during the past 15 years. To date – more than 100 nacelle yokes have been supplied to the leading wind turbine manufacturers around the world.
“Judging from the above it is obvious that we will continue to be among the leading, serious and competitive suppliers in the market, which of course, is the primary reason that we focus on continuous optimization and development of lifting and handling solutions for the wind turbine industry,” Torben Kofoed says.
