Tenaga Nasional Berhad buys 51% stake in 1.4 GW gas-fired project
The Malaysia-based project will be commissioned in July 2020.
Malaysia's national power utility Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has entered into a sale and purchase agreement with its partner SIPP Energy to acquire a 51% stake in Southern Power Generation from SIPP Energy, according to Enerdata.
"Southern Power Generation is a special purpose vehicle company for the Pasir Gudang power project, a 1,440 MW gas-fired CCGT project (two 720 MW units) in Johor. The project is expected to be commissioned in July 2020," Enerdata said.
