
SECI (India) launches a new 3 GW state-wide solar project auction
Competitors can apply for at least 50 MW projects with a 1,800 MW maximum bid.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a tender for a 3,000 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects, which will be built across India.
Each competitor can apply for projects of at least 50 MW, with a maximum bid for 1,800 MW, until 17 August 2018. SECI will sign 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the bid winners, and the maximum bidding price has been set at INR2.93/kWh (roughly US$4.27c/kWh).
Recently, SECI announced an auction for 2,500 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected hybrid wind-solar projects with project size set between 200 MW and 500 MW, with the maximum bidding price set at RUP2.93/kWh (US$4.3c/kWh).
