In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, Ranhill announced that it acquired a 26.7% stake in Tawau Green Energy for RM18.7m (US$4.4m) through its subsidiary Ranhill Capital.
The company now has 18.70 million shares in Tawau Green Energy.
Ranhill added that Tawau Green Energy has recevied an approval to develop a 37MW geothermal power plant in Apas Kiri, Tawau, Sabah.
