Panasonic to educate Malaysians on green technology

Panasonic Malaysia invested RM4 million to set up an energy management innovation centre.

Its managing director, Jeff Lee Wee Leong, explained that the so-called Panasonic Econation Centre aims to educate Malaysians on the latest green technologies and elevate their awareness on sustainable living.

He said the centre would help the company accelerate its business attention not only on the business-to-consumer segment, but also expand to the business-to-business and business-to-government segments.

The centre will also serve as an effective tour and events for trade visitors ranging from developers, contractors, government agencies, Panasonic dealers and individuals striving towards an econation.

The centre, which could reduce up to a tonne of carbon dioxide emission and approximately RM10,000 in electricity savings per annum, aimed to attract 1,200 trade visitors and 1,700 public visitors yearly, he said.
