Pakistan to utilize Turkish power ship
Pakistan will save over US$115 million in power transmission and fuel transportation through a Turkish power ship. The KARKEY’s Power Ship will be docked at Karachi over a five-year contract period.
The ship-mounted power project is directly connected to the Karachi grid to ensure a 93 percent guaranteed physical supply of electricity, reports Dailytimes.
Transmission savings over rental-period come to over US$80 million while fuel transportation savings over the same period stand at over US$60 million.
The National Transmission Dispatch Company losses range between 6 per cent and 8 per cent depending on voltage level, transmission distance and transformation mechanisms, which will be saved through power ship.
