NBPPL awaits promised power plant orders
NBPPL will likely receive the EPC order for the 500 MW Unchachar thermal power station by end of March.
In response to the techno-commercial offer submitted by NBPPL or NTPC BHEL Power Projects Private Limited, a joint venture company formed by NTPC and BHEL, NTPC was expected to award out the contract by February. However, the power major took longer than expected to open and evaluate the bid.
On a similar note, NBPPL also still awaits the EPC contract for NEEPCO's 100 MW power plant. While BHEL, the main contractor
for the plant, has decided to source the project through the JV, NEEPCO is still to approve the entire proposal.
