India predicted to hit 10GW solar capacity addition target

This is almost twice the increase in 2016-2017.

The Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy expects the country to meets its target of adding 10,000 MW of solar capacity in the 2017-2018 fiscal year (April 2017-March 2018), almost twice the 2016-2017 increase (5,526 MW). At the end of February 2018, 7,295 MW had been added since the start of the fiscal year and the cumulative capacity reached 19,584 MW. Another 2,700 MW of solar capacity are expected to be commissioned in March 2018. Consequently, the 22,000 MW milestone is expected to be reached by 31 March 2018.

At the end of fiscal year 2016-2017, the total domestic solar capacity stood at 12,288 MW (of which 5,526 MW added during 2016-2017). The country expects the trend to accelerate in 2018-2019 and has set itself an ambitious target of 100,000 MW of solar capacity by 2022.
