EGAT accelerates Hydro-floating Solar Hybrid expansion
It is also studying eco-friendly electricity generation technology.
Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has accelerated Hydro-floating Solar Hybrid projects in dams in Thailand.
As demand for green energy increases, EGAT fast-tracked the development of Unit 1 of the Hydro-floating Solar Hybrid Project at Ubol Ratana Dam in Ubon Ratchathani Province.

The project has a capacity of 24MW and an installed battery energy storage system.
EGAT has the potential to carry out hybrid projects up to 10,000MW and plans to propose more projects.
Moreover, EGAT is also studying clean energy technologies, such as carbon-free hydrogen and ammonia as alternative fuels for power generation, and carbon capture, utilisation, and storage technology amongst others.
