CLP Power to review system management following Wong Tai Sin outage
The report will be submitted within 12 months.
CLP Power Hong Kong Limited said it will form a special working group with the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department to look into its management of the power system following the power incident in Wong Tai Sin on 12 June that left 2,250 households with no power supply.
In a statement, the company said it has also started its detailed investigation and will submit a report of its findings to the government.
“CLP Power has been managing our assets responsibly and is committed to keeping pace with the times and adopting practical measures to continuously improve the reliability of power supply,” the company said.
“CLP Power will strive to provide a reliable and safe power supply to the public, and will enhance communication with the community with a view to continuing our contribution to the sustainable development of Hong Kong,” it added.
In May, CLP Power said it tapped an independent expert panel to review its asset management following concerns over its recent power incidents.
