China kicks out distributed generation from 110GW solar target
It aims to hit the target by 2020.
China's National Energy Administration has officially confirmed that it targets 110GW solar power capacity by 2020, including a 105GW solar PV and 5GW concentrating solar power (CSP).
According to Asia Europe Clean Energy (Solar) Advisory Co. Ltd. (AECEA), the plan no longer includes a specific target for distributed generation (DG), contrary to the October announcement that says 60GW is the target.
Reports say that AECEA noted that "a more than six-fold increase in the coming four years would have very likely proven being unrealistic," given the current rate of 10GW of DG in China.
FiTs are also predicted to drop by over 50% by 2020, versus the 2015 rates.
