CEM to boost service via Outage Management System
The Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) is enhancing its internal communication and customer service by providing timely outage information through the Outage Management System (OMS). The company commenced the installation of the OMS last November with an investment of nearly MOP 10 million and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
With the OMS in place, the system will have a real-time display of the number of affected customers and locations whenever fault occurs. Together with Geographic Information System (GIS), detailed information such as the outage location and name of affected buildings will be displayed on the system. This outage information will then be transmitted electronically to emergency field crew instantly.
By providing swift and accurate information provided to field crew, the time for power supply restoration can be substantially shortened. Moreover, this system will inform the responsible CEM staff of the outage information via intranet and SMS. It will generate a thorough customer data analysis about each power fault to facilitate follow-up work.
CEM, established in 1972, supplies necessary and stable power to Macau. As the partner for sustained development of Macau, CEM promises to take initiatives to provide reliable, safe and clean power supply services. CEM aims to continuously increase its own operating efficiency, improve customer service quality and support the development of Macau society and economy.
